I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very restful and enjoyable break. When we return to school on March 27th, we will begin to prepare for the PARCC assessment for grades 3-5 the first week in April, and then shortly thereafter, the spring MAP assessment for grades K-5 the first week of May. Fifth grade students will take the Illinois Science Assessment the last week in April, as well. More information will be coming after the break.
When we return back from the break, weather permitting, we will go back to outdoor arrival each morning. Students should be dropped off in the front circle and then proceed to their lines on the blacktop unless otherwise directed.
Parents, please talk to your children about their online presence. Students have been talking about being on Skype, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other social media sites. Most if not all of these site have age limits of 13+, so if your children are on those sites, they may be on them without your knowledge. We want to make sure our students are behaving safely and appropriately online both in and outside of school, and we do not want social media issues outside of school to filter into school. Below (under Internet Safety) you may click on the Common Sense Media site for parenting tips about how to handle your children' social media presence.
Congratulations to these amazing Terrace students for being recognized for demonstrating expected behaviors! Also, congratulations to Mrs. O'Brien's class for earning the Courageous Cardinal!
Please read the following reminders:
Online Registration: This week you should have received a letter in your child's backpack regarding D62 moving to online registration for next school year for grades 1-8. To learn more, please click here.
Parking Lot Safety: Please remember that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our #1 priority. After school you are welcome park your car in a designated spot in our lot and walk to the front to pick up your child. Or, you may drive through the front circle and pick up your child in the pickup line. DO NOT double park your car in the lot and ask your child to run over to your car. I have personally seen students do this and nearly get hit by a car in the lot. Please listen to and work with our traffic supervisors. We need you working together with us to ensure students and staff are safe. Thank you so much.

Please make sure your children come to school dressed appropriately for the weather, as even when it is cold and snowy, we may go outside for recess. If you need the most accurate and updated weather for Terrace, please read the next section below...
