As I write this, our hard-working custodial staff are in the process of putting on all of the finishing touches that make our building sparkle on the first day of school. Our office opens at 8:00 a.m., so if you have any questions, please call or drop by.
Classroom assignments for students will be going out in today's mail. Hopefully within the next couple of days you will receive your official notice from us. Please remember, these assignments were carefully and methodically crafted by our entire staff, and those decisions are now final.
I would like to also remind all of our 1st - 5th grade families that Supply Drop-Off will be next Thursday, August 20, from 1:00-3:00. This is an opportunity for you to bring your child's supplies before school starts rather than carrying it all on the first day of school on Aug. 24. Please remember that this is simply a drop-in to meet the teacher and drop off supplies, and it is not a time to have a parent-teacher conference. Kindergarten parents, you have already made arrangements with your teacher to come before your first day of school on August 26.
I would like to welcome and introduce you to our new staff. Karolina Fital will be teaching our intermediate STEP students, Lindsey Khan is our new school social worker, Jesse Roy will be teaching our intermediate BEST students, and Adam Kravets will be one of the paraprofessionals assigned to our BEST classroom. We look forward to you meeting them and for them to become part of the Terrace community.
If you still need to get school supplies, you can go to the Terrace Website to access the 2015-2016 supply lists per grade level.
If you are on Facebook and would like to see what is going on at Terrace, be sure to check out the Terrace Facebook page. Pictures are regularly posted to better give you an insight into all the great things that go on at school each and every day. Remember to click the "like" button so our updates appear regularly on your feed. Or, under the school address near the top left of this page, you can click Facebook, and it will direct you straight to the page.
It is important for us to have a current email address and phone number for you at all times. If you want to ensure that you receive emails and notifications from Terrace and D62, please make sure our office has your most current email and phone numbers on file. If you send us your contact information, I ask that you please write very neatly so we can make sure we are entering the correct information in our student information system.
I look forward to seeing many of you on Supply Drop-Off and on the first days of school!
Dr. Stein
