I hope you will join me in congratulating our superintendent, Dr. Jane Westerhold, for having the honor of having the Early Learning Center named after her yesterday. In her time as our district leader, she has been a true visionary. One of the many ways this is evident is in how she has championed the need for our youngest little learners to have a place where they can not only receive support in many different areas but to also learn how to become learners. Our community has truly benefited from the establishment of ELC, and it is fitting that the ELC will now bear her name. Congratulations, Dr. Westerhold!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. There will be a theme for each day (please refer to the letter I sent home in today's email). In sum:
Monday, Oct. 26th: “Red Ribbon Pledge Day” - Everyone wear red. At lunchtime, Student Council will be helping all students to take the Red Ribbon Pledge and sign our school-wide pledge form.
Tuesday, Oct. 27th: “Be On A Drug Free Team Day” - Wear your favorite sports team outfit or something that
represents an activity that you have participated in (i.e., t-shirt from Boy or Girl Scouts, soccer team, camp, etc.).
Wednesday, Oct. 28th: "Sock it to Drugs” - Wear your silliest socks to school!
Thursday, Oct. 29th: “Drugs and I don’t match!” - Wear mismatched clothing to school!
Friday, Oct. 30th: “Say Boo to Drugs” - Wear your Halloween costumes! **If you need to recall information about the festivities on this day, scroll down to read my message from last week.
Don't forget that tonight (Oct. 23) is PTC Bingo Night! Also, remember that Spiritwear orders are also due today (Oct. 23). If you have any additional questions, please contact the PTC at t[email protected].
If you are on Facebook and would like to see what is going on at Terrace, be sure to check out the Terrace Facebook page. Pictures are regularly posted to better give you an insight into all the great things that go on at school each and every day. Remember to click the "like" button so our updates appear regularly on your feed. Or, under the school address near the top left of this page, you can click Facebook, and it will direct you straight to the page. My goal is for us to get to 300 "likes", so tell your families and friends to "like" our page!
It is important for us to have a current email address and phone number for you at all times. If you want to ensure that you receive emails and notifications from Terrace and D62, please make sure our office has your most current email and phone numbers on file. If you send us your contact information, I ask that you please write very neatly so we can make sure we are entering the correct information in our student information system.
Congratulations to Mrs. Hanstad's class for earning the Courageous Cardinal!
