This week we practiced school lockdown procedures. We practiced this two times so both the morning and afternoon kindergarten students would have a chance to participate. I asked our school resource officer, Rich Niznik, to observe in order to give us any feedback necessary to improve. We take safety very seriously, and Officer Niznik thought we did a great job. I was so impressed with how well the teachers and students did!
Please check your child's folders tonight for an updated Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). It has been reworked at the district level to be in more student-friendly terms as well as to focus more on using technology in a positive and responsible way. They will need to be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to school by September 30. Thank you for your cooperation.
For kindergarten parents: Tonight, September 18, PTC will be hosting their first ever Kindergarten Mixer, rain or shine. Kinder families are invited to join the PTC on the kindergarten playground (south end of the school) at 6:00 p.m. for ice cream. This will be a great time to meet other kindergarten families and learn about different ways to get involved at Terrace. Then, if you want you can stay and join them for their first ever outdoor movie night!
For everyone: You are all invited join the PTC on the blacktop for their first ever outdoor movie night tonight, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. Come enjoy a free movie, concessions, and a raffle while the weather is still nice! Students will soon be voting on the movie PTC will be showing. Our PTC hopes to see you there, rain or shine.
If you are on Facebook and would like to see what is going on at Terrace, be sure to check out the Terrace Facebook page. Pictures are regularly posted to better give you an insight into all the great things that go on at school each and every day. Remember to click the "like" button so our updates appear regularly on your feed. Or, under the school address near the top left of this page, you can click Facebook, and it will direct you straight to the page. My goal is for us to get to 300 "likes", so tell your families and friends to "like" our page!
It is important for us to have a current email address and phone number for you at all times. If you want to ensure that you receive emails and notifications from Terrace and D62, please make sure our office has your most current email and phone numbers on file. If you send us your contact information, I ask that you please write very neatly so we can make sure we are entering the correct information in our student information system.
Have a great weekend!
