I wanted to thank those of you were were able to come to Curriculum Night this week. The teachers work extremely hard to ensure that you receive all the information you need to have a better understanding of what your children are doing and learning here at school. As always, if you have further questions, feel free to contact your child's teacher.
I wanted to thank our families who drop off and pick up in the morning who do a nice job following the traffic flow and guidelines I have articulated in the past. Again, we ask that you DO NOT drop off or pick up your child in the parking lot. This is a safety hazard for both students and teachers. We ask that you please drive through the front circle to drop off and pick up your child. If you want to physically walk over to the front entrance area to pick up or drop off your child, please park your car and walk over. Finally, remember that you should not be driving and talking on a mobile phone in a school zone. This is a law the DPPD will enforce if they see it.
Mrs. Moravec (Art) has a 4th grade artist named Nicole from Orchard Place School who has been chosen as a finalist in the Artsonia Artist of the Week!! If you remember, last year our very own Luke was named Artist of the Week because of all of your support and the support of Orchard Place. Please vote for her daily! You can vote for Nicole10031 at http://www.artsonia.com/aotw/vote/0/39724040.
For kindergarten parents: On Friday, September 18, PTC will be hosting their first ever Kindergarten Mixer. Kinder families are invited to join the PTC on the kindergarten playground (south end of the school) at 6:00 p.m. for ice cream. This is a great time to meet other kindergarten families and learn about different ways to get involved at Terrace. Then, if you want you can stay and join them for their first ever outdoor movie night!
For everyone: You are all invited join the PTC on the blacktop for their first ever outdoor movie night on Friday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. Come enjoy a free movie, concessions, and a raffle while the weather is still nice! Students will soon be voting on the movie PTC will be showing. Our PTC hopes to see you there.
If you are on Facebook and would like to see what is going on at Terrace, be sure to check out the Terrace Facebook page. Pictures are regularly posted to better give you an insight into all the great things that go on at school each and every day. Remember to click the "like" button so our updates appear regularly on your feed. Or, under the school address near the top left of this page, you can click Facebook, and it will direct you straight to the page. My goal is for us to get to 300 "likes", so tell your families and friends to "like" our page!
It is important for us to have a current email address and phone number for you at all times. If you want to ensure that you receive emails and notifications from Terrace and D62, please make sure our office has your most current email and phone numbers on file. If you send us your contact information, I ask that you please write very neatly so we can make sure we are entering the correct information in our student information system.
Have a great weekend!
